About Me

Hello and Welcome,

I’m Marla.

I’m just a small town girl who lives in the middle of nowhere. Believe me, I’m not exaggerating. The nearest Walmart is a 65 mile drive and the nearest mall is even farther.

I’m a college student who’s majoring in Political Science, because I can. I’m also obsessed with photography and learning how to cook. I’ve the oldest of six children and tend to like to take care of other people. I’m also a perfectionist and true animal lover.

I’m in love with the coolest man I know. He’s funny, charming, and a wonderful snuggler. Plus, he’s the most hardworking person I know. We love spending time together.
My love
Thank you for visiting my website. This is a space where I hope to express myself and show off our country life. I hope you enjoy your stay.

I’m live on the far-side of the Oklahoma panhandle… Just about as far away from OKC as you can get and still be in the state.

  6. Hi.. you have a great blog! keep on writing..

  7. I’m also married to a farmer. We live in a very rural part of Missouri, which I refer to “The Middle of Nowhere, Missouri. Turn left at the cow.”

Our nearest WalMart is about 40 miles away. I also work in that 40-mile-away town (and get very tired of the drive every day). But a mall? I vaguely remember what one of those is, but it’s been so long, I can’t quite picture it anymore. hehehehe

Hello! I just love your photographs, especially the ones of the land and farming. I’ve added you to my blogroll at http://www.houndwelfare.wordpress.com.

  15. I first caught your blog when it was featured on the front page of wordpress. I’ve taken the time to look through different parts of it, from the beginning as well as the more recent posts. It is very well written and the photographs are beautiful, complimenting the content very well. If you could do me just one favor and tell Colby that a central Californian wishes to tell him thank you for the job that he does as a farmer out in Oklahoma. Over the last 4 years I have watched as agricultural land has been scooped up by residential developers. In a time when we need farmers, know that there is at least one person here in California that appreciates what your husband is doing.

  17. I saw your blog on Freshly Pressed a while ago and have been reading it on and off since then. I just love your posts. Even when they’re heartbreaking, they have an eloquence and sincerity to them. And your pictures are incredible!

Your optimism and gratitude are wonderfully infectious. Keep writing, and thanks for sharing your words with everyone!
